OBJECTIVES

• Understand the CNIL’s enforcement framework and the scope of its inspection and sanctioning powers.
• Anticipate and reduce the risks of inspections and sanctions upstream, depending on the organisation’s sector of activity and its position in the processing chain.
• Know how to respond effectively in the event of a CNIL inspection, regardless of the form it takes.
• Understand the course of sanction proceedings before the Restricted Committee and identify the most relevant means of defence to be used.
• Understand the available avenues of appeal before the Conseil d’État, their relevance and their potential consequences.
