Oyat Advises BioUpp on Its Financing Round to Accelerate Renewable Gas Production
The law firm Oyat served as legal counsel to BioUpp and its founding partners in connection with the closing of its financing round totaling nearly 4 million euros, including (i) 2.4 million euros raised from the Fonds Régional Avenir Industrie, UI Investissement, CACF Capital Innovation, Lita, Ingerop, and the Etellin Group, and (ii) nearly 1.6 million euros in non-dilutive financing from Bpifrance.
The purpose of this investment is to enable BioUpp to begin the industrialization of its patented technology, which can convert excess electricity and CO₂ from anaerobic digesters into renewable biomethane.
Founded in 2024, BioUpp was recognized in 2024 by the i-Lab State Innovation Competition—funded by France 2030 and operated by Bpifrance—validating the technical, economic, and strategic feasibility of its project. In 2025, it was named a winner of the European Women TechEU program, which highlights cutting-edge technology startups led by women.
